After the deep ruby mood of Chernihiv, we wanted light.

Spring.

Air.

A pale pink colour, fine bubbles and a floral aroma that never turns the cocktail into perfume.

That is how Uzhhorod Blossom appeared — the seventh cocktail in the signature “ENTUZIAST — Cities of Ukraine” collection.

Its foundation is MeadGIN Raspberry ENTUZIAST, complemented by dry sparkling wine, lemon and a very delicate floral accent.

This is a light, fresh, pink and sparkling cocktail.

But we deliberately did not want it to be sweet.

Spring as the Main Idea

Uzhhorod is very easy to associate with blossom.

But for us, it was important not simply to place a few pink flowers beside a glass and call that a concept.

We wanted the feeling of spring to exist inside the flavour itself.

That meant the cocktail had to be light, aromatic and alive.

There is no heavy spirit structure here.

No dark bitterness.

No dense sweetness.

There is berry, acidity, dry sparkling wine and a very subtle floral note.

Why MeadGIN Raspberry?

For Uzhhorod Blossom, we needed a spirit base that immediately introduced a delicate pink direction.

That is why we chose MeadGIN Raspberry ENTUZIAST.

Raspberry contributes more than colour.

It brings fresh berry aroma, subtle acidity and softness that works beautifully with dry sparkling wine.

At the same time, the character of MeadGIN remains present underneath — honey distillate, juniper and botanicals.

That prevents the cocktail from becoming just another berry Spritz.

Uzhhorod Blossom Recipe

  • 40 ml MeadGIN Raspberry ENTUZIAST;
  • 15 ml fresh lemon juice;
  • 5 ml light floral cordial or elderflower cordial;
  • 70–90 ml dry sparkling wine;
  • ice — optional, depending on the serving style;
  • thin lemon peel or one small edible flower for garnish.

The floral component is deliberately used in a very small amount.

It should never dominate.

How to Make Uzhhorod Blossom

  1. Thoroughly chill a wine glass or small Spritz glass.
  2. Add 40 ml MeadGIN Raspberry ENTUZIAST.
  3. Pour in 15 ml fresh lemon juice.
  4. Add 5 ml floral cordial.
  5. Stir gently.
  6. Top with 70–90 ml well-chilled dry sparkling wine.
  7. Give the drink one very light stir.
  8. Finish with thin lemon peel or one small edible flower.

The main rule is simple — preserve the bubbles.

Why Dry Sparkling Wine?

Because MeadGIN Raspberry already has a soft berry character.

If you add sweet or semi-sweet sparkling wine, the cocktail can quickly become dessert-like.

Dry sparkling wine works differently.

It contributes acidity, structure, bubbles and a sense of lightness.

That is what keeps the cocktail fresh.

Brut or Extra Brut?

Both can work.

Brut creates a slightly softer balance.

Extra Brut makes the cocktail drier and more restrained.

If your MeadGIN Raspberry feels especially aromatic and rounded, Extra Brut may work even better.

Why Lemon?

Without lemon, the cocktail risks becoming too rounded.

Raspberry and sparkling wine create a beautiful aromatic profile, but they need a point of acidity.

Fifteen millilitres of lemon juice makes the flavour livelier and cleaner.

At the same time, lemon should not dominate.

Its purpose is to provide structure.

What Is the Floral Accent?

This is the most dangerous component in the recipe.

Not because it is difficult to use.

But because it is very easy to use too much.

The floral aroma should sit almost at the edge of perception.

It should appear after raspberry and lemon rather than covering them.

Which Floral Component Works Best?

The easiest option is a light elderflower cordial.

You can also use a homemade floral cordial based on elderflower, acacia or other delicate spring aromas.

The key is to avoid anything too perfumed.

Rose, lavender or violet can work, but only in micro-doses.

Why Only 5 ml?

Because we are making a berry-and-sparkling cocktail with a floral accent.

Not a floral liqueur with bubbles.

Five millilitres is enough for the aroma to appear in the background.

At 15–20 ml, the floral note can easily take over the entire drink.

Should Uzhhorod Blossom Be Sweet?

No.

It may be softer than Kharkiv Constructivist or Chernihiv Blackthorn, but it should still remain fresh.

Raspberry provides berry character.

Sparkling wine provides dryness.

Lemon provides acidity.

Floral cordial adds a small amount of roundness.

The entire task is to keep these four elements in balance.

What Colour Should It Be?

Pale pink.

Not bright raspberry.

Not red.

Not opaque.

Ideally, the cocktail should have a delicate pink hue, good clarity and lively bubbles.

It should look almost weightless.

What Should Uzhhorod Blossom Taste Like?

Raspberry should appear first in the aroma.

Then comes a light floral note.

On the palate, the cocktail begins fresh and berry-driven.

Lemon adds acidity.

Sparkling wine tightens the structure and makes the flavour drier.

The floral component remains in the background.

The finish should be clean, light and sparkling.

Why Are the Bubbles So Important?

Because the entire idea of the cocktail is built around lightness.

Bubbles do more than change the texture.

They continuously carry the aroma of raspberry and flowers towards the surface of the glass.

Without them, the drink would feel considerably heavier.

Can You Add Soda?

Yes.

If you want to make the cocktail even lighter, add 20–30 ml of soda water after the sparkling wine.

This moves the drink closer to a Spritz format.

It also makes it more daytime-oriented and less concentrated.

Does It Need Ice?

There are two good approaches.

In a large wine glass, you can use several large ice cubes.

This presentation feels more like a Spritz.

In a smaller, thoroughly chilled glass, the cocktail can be served without ice.

That version looks more elegant and compact.

Which Glass Should You Use?

A small wine glass works beautifully for a light spring presentation.

A tulip glass or elegant coupe can also work well.

The main thing is to avoid heavy, massive glassware.

The glass should support the overall feeling of lightness.

How Should Uzhhorod Blossom Be Garnished?

Very delicately.

A thin strip of lemon peel is the simplest option.

You can also add one small edible flower.

One.

There is no need to create a bouquet inside the glass.

And definitely no need to cover the entire composition with pink petals.

What About Sakura?

Sakura is an obvious association with springtime Uzhhorod.

That is exactly why it should be used carefully.

We do not want the cocktail to become a tourist postcard.

Sakura can exist in the mood, atmosphere or illustration.

It does not need to be literally placed inside the glass.

Sometimes suggestion works better than a direct symbol.

Uzhhorod Blossom or Raspberry MeadGIN Spritz?

The similarity is obvious.

Both cocktails use MeadGIN Raspberry and sparkling wine.

But their personalities are different.

Raspberry MeadGIN Spritz is a more direct summer aperitif built around raspberry, sparkling wine and easy freshness.

Uzhhorod Blossom introduces lemon and a very subtle floral layer.

It is more aromatic, more delicate and more spring-like.

How Is It Different from French 75?

French 75 also combines gin, citrus and sparkling wine.

So there is a clear structural relationship.

But Uzhhorod Blossom uses MeadGIN Raspberry as a berry-driven base and adds a floral accent.

The result is softer, pinker and more floral in aroma.

What Food Goes Well with Uzhhorod Blossom?

The light character of the cocktail works best with equally light food.

Soft cheeses, fresh salads, fish, seafood and fruit can all be good partners.

Small appetisers with berries or fresh herbs can be especially interesting.

Heavy smoked food may completely overpower the delicate aroma of the cocktail.

When Is the Best Time to Serve This Cocktail?

Spring is the obvious answer.

But it also works beautifully in summer.

A daytime terrace, early evening or an aperitif before dinner is the natural environment for Uzhhorod Blossom.

This is a cocktail that needs light.

Why Uzhhorod?

Because after several more austere cocktails in the collection, we needed a city that could change the emotional direction.

Uzhhorod gave us a spring perspective.

Not only because of the blossom.

But because of the atmosphere itself.

A compact city.

Warm streets.

Spring air.

Flowers.

Light.

And the feeling that after winter, the world becomes lighter again.

From Deep Ruby to Pink Light

The previous cocktail in the collection — Chernihiv Blackthorn — was dark, tart and herbal.

With Uzhhorod Blossom, everything changes.

Dark Blackthorn becomes pale MeadGIN Raspberry.

Dry herbs become a floral aroma.

A Rocks glass with one large ice cube becomes a light wine glass.

Deep ruby becomes transparent pink.

Late evening becomes a spring afternoon.

The Seventh Point on Our Cocktail Map of Ukraine

The collection continues to change with every city.

Kyiv Golden Hour — gold and evening light.

Lviv Coffee & Honey — coffee and the old city.

Odesa Sea Breeze — sea, citrus and cool freshness.

Dnipro Current — river, apple and ginger.

Kharkiv Constructivist — geometry, dryness and herbs.

Chernihiv Blackthorn — dark berry and a northern mood.

Uzhhorod Blossom — raspberry, flowers, sparkling wine and spring.

The next point on our map will return us to warmth, but to a completely different kind of warmth.

Not the evening gold of Kyiv, but southern sunlight and ripe fruit.

Next comes Kherson Sun / Херсонське сонце.

Honey Spirit Apple, apricot or peach cordial, lemon and soda.

Conclusion

Uzhhorod Blossom is a spring cocktail built around lightness.

MeadGIN Raspberry creates the berry foundation and delicate pink colour. Lemon adds acidity. Dry sparkling wine brings structure and bubbles. A small amount of floral cordial leaves a subtle aromatic trace.

It should not be sweet.

It should not be perfumed.

And it should not be overloaded with decoration.

Its strength is in its lightness.

Spring. Pink light. Raspberry. Flowers. Bubbles. The seventh point on ENTUZIAST's cocktail map of Ukraine.
